The International Franchise Association Educational Foundation released its report on the franchise industry earlier this year, the Franchise Business Economic Outlook, 2011. The short version: the franchise industry as a whole seems to be poised for a sunny 2011.
Here are some key takeaways from the report:
- Macroeconomic factors are predicted to improve. GDP growth is expected to increase over 2010. A rising economic tide should lift all business boats.
- The three sectors that will see the greatest growth in establishments and employment are Automotive, Lodging, and Retail Products and Services.
- Establishment and employment growth will see much greater increases than franchise-related economic output. This is natural, as expansion slowed and staffs were minimized during the recession.
